Chapter 173-167 WAC Emergency Drought Funding (2021)

On July 28, 2021, Ecology adopted a new emergency rule chapter 173-167 WAC, Emergency Drought Funding. This emergency rule provides eligibility criteria for grant funds to alleviate hardship resulting from the drought declared on July 14, 2021.

We have a limited amount of emergency grant funds. In order to respond as efficiently and effectively as possible, all currently available funds are being distributed to other state agencies best equipped to respond to emergency drought situations involving human health, fish health, and agriculture emergencies. These agencies are passing along these funds to public entities and are implementing drought emergency projects.
